SuperH(SH4 and other) supports kexec syscall and this works.
I checked on some sh4 boards. Of course kexec-toos support SuperH.
( Please check kexec/arch/sh directory.)
Version of debian package support zImage , but latest version(2.0.2)
support uImage too.
