For what it's worth, in X, both Emacs and emacs are valid, but they mean different things. From X(1): RESOURCES ... At the top level is the class and instance name of the application itself. By convention, the class name of the applica‐ tion is the same as the program name, but with the first letter capitalized (e.g. Bitmap or Emacs) although some programs that begin with the letter ``x'' also capitalize the sec‐ ond letter for historical reasons. I believe "Emacs" indicates the class, and so refers to all invocations, while "emacs" indicates the program name -- as the application was launched. I haven't tested, but I suspect that in Debian, since /usr/bin/emacs is an alternatives symlink, the actual program name may be emacs23-x or emacs23-nox rather than emacs. So you might need: emacs23-x*keyword:value and Emacs*keyword:value -- Rob Browning rlb @defaultvalue.org and @debian.org GPG as of 2002-11-03 14DD 432F AE39 534D B592 F9A0 25C8 D377 8C7E 73A4 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
