Package: isc-dhcp-client Version: 4.1.1-P1-9 Severity: normal While trying to setting up a fallback configuration for dhclient, I hit the following bug:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=100886 It is still present on the latest package so I think this has to be documented in a visible place. In brief, dhclient cannot get a lease if any of thess apply: - "expire" value is not defined - "expire" has an incorret value (past time) So kindly: 1. Let the user to know what are the required parameters that need to be present to properly set up a fallback configuration (by defining a static lease) 2. Provide a dhclient.conf template with an updated expire/renew/rebind date (starting from the current year) Thanks. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=es_ES.utf8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages isc-dhcp-client depends on: ii debianutils 3.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii isc-dhcp-common 4.1.1-P1-9 common files used by all the isc-d ii libc6 2.11.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-2 SSL shared libraries isc-dhcp-client recommends no packages.
