Hi, just in case you haven't see my comments.
indeed, I didn't see them, thanks for the heads-up!
1. There's one single menu item to open new connection profile dialog.
2. Initially, the dialog shows "Quick Connect" in its "Name" field and
have "Group" field and "Save" button disabled. If user leaves the name
as it is, it will not be saved and will operate as temporary connection.
3. Once the user changes the "Name" field, the dialog should enable
"Group" field and "Save" button, so it becomes a profile that is going
to be saved.
To summarize, there will be only one dialog to establish a connection,
it will look like the former "Quick Connect" window and does not allow
to save the connection until the user enters an actual name for it.
From then on it will look like the former "Edit -> New" window.
Yes, this sounds exactly like the UI that I initially suggested. :)
While at it, please do also get rid of the redundant "Quick Connect
To..." menu and remember the last used connection type in the Connect
window instead.
Now the question: should we still call this menu item "Edit->New"?
No. I'd suggest to drop the Action and Edit menus altogether and
introduce a new one called "Connection" (because this is what reminna
actually deals with) and put the New, Copy, Edit, Paste (etc) menu
entries there, instead.
(by the way I registered this gmail account because bugs.debian.org
keeps rejecting my original email)
Well, I can only guess, but maybe 163.com does not qualify as a FQDN?
