Is it still possible to start X again without rebooting? I'd guess so, but let's check. If you find a particular pattern / way to reproduce this issue, I'd be glad to hear about it. It'd be nice to know how it goes with 2.13.0-1 (just uploaded to experimental, so available in a few hours). Mraw, KiBi.
