Upstream bug #4319 produces empty files on my setup, see also Debian Bug 593125 (my last comment there is from September 17th and includes the fix).
NOTE: I will prepare an NMU to testing-proposed-updates at least with the fix to my problem if I don't hear anything on this bug or bug #593125 by Friday of next week (8th).
