Package: gdm3 Version: 2.30.2-4 Severity: normal Tags: squeeze sid I found the problem described here in two differents debian setup : - One was a "stable" setup upgraded to "testing" (at which point gdm3 was installed) - The other was a "sid" setup where I upgraded gdm to the gdm3 version. Both setup use a French AZERTY keyboard and the layout of the keyboard was set to "French Alternative" or "French other", I don't know the english name of the layout (in French it is "France Autre").
Since gdm3 is installed, the keyboard layout is set to "French (legacy) Alternative" (or "... other") when the computer boot (there is no other options in gdm3 drop-down menu for the keyboard layout). Then, after I log in, the keyboard layout remains on the same "legacy" version which is added to the other layout I might have configured. This makes the layout selection box appears if there was previously only one layout selected (and two at this point). If I remove the "legacy" version of the layout from my selected layout, it will reappears at the next boot.
