It would be nice to ship software which is "obsolete" (in the sense of not supported, at least) by much more than a year when Squeeze is released. Given the policies about freezes I agree that it will be difficult to get them accepted in Squeeze, but nevertheless I think that it's worth trying, specially if it fixes several bug reports.
