You should probably dedicate an DNS entry to the Debian mirror, we would
be less dependent from the machine running the mirror.

Please read carefully http://www.debian.org/mirror/ftpmirror : we need a
local trace file generated by the tool ftpsync (which accepts several
configurations, here ftpsync.conf ftpsync-backports.conf
ftpsync-volatile.conf).

If something is not clear, you can ask debian-mirr...@lists.debian.org
for help.

ftp.br.debian.org does offer all these archives, you may check whether
you get higher speeds.
