About your problem from http://bugs.debian.org/597217,
/usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/mcrypt.so is from the php5-mcrypt package.
Do you have it installed? Was /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/mcrypt.so somehow
removed? (if php5-mcrypt is installed)
I believe I do have the package that you mention installed, and the file is not missing:

n...@njh:~$ dpkg -l php5-mcrypt
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend
|/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name           Version        Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii  php5-mcrypt    5.3.2-2        MCrypt module for php5
n...@njh:~$ ls -l /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/mcrypt.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 34160 Jul 19 00:16 /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/mcrypt.so
n...@njh:~$
