Package: deja-dup Version: 14.2-1 Severity: normal I have deja-dup set to back up daily to a smb:// path. (I would prefer to use an rsync:// path - the native rsync protocol, that is, *not* rsync over ssh - but it doesn't seem to support that. But that's not the bug.)
The automatic backup never happens; I always get a notification box saying the backup has been delayed and will start when a network connection is available. (The computer and the backup server are both connected to the same Ethernet hub, so a network connection should always be available.) If I manually mount the appropriate SMB share from Nautilus and then run deja-dup manually, it gives more or less the same error message. I see these messages in the terminal: ** (deja-dup:2475): DEBUG: DuplicityInstance.vala:199: Running the following duplicity (2478) command: duplicity collection-status --exclude=/home/zack/.mozilla/firefox/8fgwvr8z.default/Cache --exclude=/home/zack/.ccache --exclude=/home/zack/.local/share/Trash --exclude=/home/zack/.Private --exclude=/home/zack/.recent-applications.xbel --exclude=/home/zack/.recently-used.xbel --exclude=/home/zack/.xsession-errors --exclude=/home/zack/.gvfs --exclude=/home/zack/.thumbnails --exclude=/home/zack/.cache --include=/home/zack --exclude=/sys --exclude=/proc --exclude=/tmp --exclude=** --gio --no-encryption smb://heathwill.local/backup/zack/moxana --verbosity=9 --archive-dir=/home/zack/.cache/deja-dup --log-file=/tmp/deja-dup-RRP1IV (deja-dup:2475): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_value_get_uint: assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_UINT (value)' failed ** (deja-dup:2475): DEBUG: Duplicity.vala:165: No connection found. Postponing the backup. At this point I can use 'ps' to see something like this: 2475 pts/0 Sl+ 0:01 deja-dup 2478 pts/0 TN+ 0:00 ionice -c2 -n7 duplicity collection-status --exclude= If I then kill -CONT the duplicity process, the backup begins, and completes successfully. It seems that the only problem is that it's not detecting the network correctly. It might be relevant that I do not have HAL installed, but I don't see HAL in the dependencies list. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.35-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages deja-dup depends on: ii duplicity 0.6.09-4 encrypted bandwidth-efficient back ii gconf2 2.28.1-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii gvfs-fuse 1.6.3-2 userspace virtual filesystem - fus ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-6 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-3 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.88-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.2-2 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgconf2-4 2.28.1-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring0 2.30.1-1 GNOME keyring services library ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-1+b1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libnautilus-extension1 2.30.1-2 libraries for nautilus components ii libnotify1 [libnotify1- 0.5.0-2 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libunique-1.0-0 1.1.6-1.1 Library for writing single instanc ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages deja-dup recommends: ii openssh-client [ssh-client] 1:5.5p1-5 secure shell (SSH) client, for sec ii python-boto 1.9b-4 Python interface to Amazon's Web S Versions of packages deja-dup suggests: ii util-linux 2.17.2-3.2 Miscellaneous system utilities -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
