I'm still pretty sure this is a duplicate of #594418 (and friends). Since you seem to use unstable/sid you probably already have the latest version of mdadm which contained the fix for that bug. I'm therefore going to merge your bug if you (or anybody else) don't have any objections? Best regards Alexander Kurtz
