Btw FreeBSD handbook (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/developers-handbook/kerneldebug.html#KERNELDEBUG-OBTAIN) says dumpon and savecore are needed to save and restore crash dumps so I ported them and added them to freebsd-utils in case you need them.
