I checked, if this problem still persists with newer versions of Oracle. My installation consists of: Debian 5.0.6 (Kernel 2.6.26-2-686) Oracle Instant Client 11gR2 BasicLite & SDK libdbi-perl 1.606-1 libssl 0.9.8g-15 libnet-ldap-perl 1:0.36-1 libio-socket-ssl-perl 1.16 libnet-ssleay-perl 1.35-1 perl 5.10.0-19 DBD::Oracle 1.24b
It seems that the Core-Dumps don't occur anymore with these versions.
