I just noticed that pidgin, with all plugins disabled, detaches a new gpg-agent process on start-up, even though there another gpg-agent running in my session already. Closing pidgin doesn't terminate the extra process, and a separate new one is created on the next start-up. So if I start and quit pidgin 10 times in a row, I have 11 gpg-agent processes running.
