Some update on this bug. I contacted Ludovic and we agreed to try the push the packet forward together. Right now Ludovic has packaged 0.134 which is available on his repository. Work is going on to create a package for 0.138, which we will try to push in Debian. Since 0.136 sdlmame is actually part of the official mame source distribution, which should increase support of the sdl port in Mame. We plan use repository to maintain Mame as well as MESS in a collaborative way.
