Package: gnome-power-manager Version: 2.30.1-1 Severity: important gnome-power-manager is setup to put my laptop to 'sleep' after 10 minutes. However, it is never activated - the machine does not hibernate and the display is not turned off.
Hibernate and suspend work fine when trigged from System > Shutdown. And gnome-power-manager will hibernate the machine when the battery is low. I suppose it is not detecting that the machine is idle. There may not be a relation, but I am using gnome-screensaver and it can detect when the machine is idle and start the screensaver (after one minute). I was running power manager inhibit applet when I took the logs below, but it is not enabled - so sleep is enabled. I get the same behaviour from gpm with or without the applet. Here is tail of the output of gnome-power-manager --verbose http://pastebin.com/kNN5ZdAB Ouput of "for i in /sys/class/power_supply/*/*; do echo $i; cat $i; done" is here: http://pastebin.com/Fd6txzi3 gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome-power-manager http://pastebin.com/2bmfZ07E The machine is a Lenovo T61. -- Package-specific info: Distro version: squeeze/sid Kernel version: 2.6.33.1 g-p-m version: 2.30.1 HAL version: 0.5.14 System manufacturer: missing System version: missing System product: missing AC adapter present: yes Battery present: yes Laptop panel present: yes CPU scaling present: yes Battery Information: battery.charge_level.current = 43520 (0xaa00) (int) battery.charge_level.design = 47520 (0xb9a0) (int) battery.charge_level.last_full = 43520 (0xaa00) (int) battery.charge_level.percentage = 100 (0x64) (int) battery.charge_level.rate = 0 (0x0) (int) battery.is_rechargeable = true (bool) battery.model = 'COMPATIBLE' (string) battery.present = true (bool) battery.rechargeable.is_charging = false (bool) battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = false (bool) battery.reporting.current = 43520 (0xaa00) (int) battery.reporting.design = 47520 (0xb9a0) (int) battery.reporting.last_full = 43520 (0xaa00) (int) battery.reporting.rate = 0 (0x0) (int) battery.reporting.technology = 'Li-ion' (string) battery.reporting.unit = 'mWh' (string) battery.serial = '39973' (string) battery.technology = 'lithium-ion' (string) battery.type = 'primary' (string) battery.vendor = 'SANYO' (string) battery.voltage.current = 12451 (0x30a3) (int) battery.voltage.design = 10800 (0x2a30) (int) battery.voltage.unit = 'mV' (string) DeviceKit data: Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/line_power_AC native-path: /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0A08:00/device:00/PNP0C09:00/ACPI0003:00/power_supply/AC power supply: yes updated: Sat Aug 28 12:48:47 2010 (7677 seconds ago) has history: no has statistics: no line-power online: yes Device: /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0 native-path: /sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0A08:00/device:00/PNP0C09:00/PNP0C0A:00/power_supply/BAT0 vendor: SANYO model: COMPATIBLE serial: 39973 power supply: yes updated: Sat Aug 28 14:30:22 2010 (1582 seconds ago) has history: yes has statistics: yes battery present: yes rechargeable: yes state: fully-charged energy: 43.52 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 43.52 Wh energy-full-design: 47.52 Wh energy-rate: 0 W voltage: 12.503 V percentage: 100% capacity: 91.5825% technology: lithium-ion Daemon: daemon-version: 0.9.5 can-suspend: yes can-hibernate yes on-battery: no on-low-battery: no lid-is-closed: no lid-is-present: no GNOME Power Manager Process Information: sjf 406 0.0 0.5 76000 11140 ?
