No reply so far, but I found time to track down the package with /etc/init.d/fglrx-atieventsd, so I reassign the bug there. I am assuming this issue affect the users of that package worse than those of kdm, so I reassign to fglrx-atieventsd and not kdm. If this bug affect all usres of the fglrx-atieventsd package, the bug is release critical. Raising severity to serious to make sure someone check this out before the release. If fglrx-atieventsd should start before kdm, it should have a x-start-before: $x-display-manager header in its init.d script.
