Package: bugs.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Hey people,

The BTS is improving by the day; excellent work!

Here's a small detail I think could be improved: in the bug summary
pages, which is already overcrowded with information, I think some
pieces could be left out.

The submitter is displayed with full name and email address, which could
be changed to just the full name. You can see the email address in de
bug details if you're really curious. One could argue that you could
even leave out the submitter entirely from the summary; it's hardly
useful information and can be seen in the detail page. But that might be
a step too far although I don't object it.

Also, each line mentions the severity. But as far as I know, the bugs
are also always grouped by severity, so this is duplicate. Could be
omitted?

Third, I think in the vast majority of cases you're looking at the
summary page for a specific package. Yet, each line repeats that package
name. Furthermore it's often repeated in the version field. Maybe this
can be left out except when you're not querying by package?

Here's an example "before":

#123456: A little less detail in bug summaries
Package: bugs.debian.org (bugs.debian.org 1.2.4-1); Severity: wishlist;
Reported by: Thijs Kinkhorst <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tags: pending; 10
days old.

and after:

#123456: A little less detail in bug summaries
Version: bugs.debian.org 1.2.4-1); Reported by: Thijs Kinkhorst; Tags:
pending; 10 days old.

Thanks again for the work you're putting into improving the BTS!

regards,
Thijs Kinkhorst
