The configuration file /etc/wordpress/wp-config.php includes the line: "Please do NOT edit and read about how the configuration works in the README.Debi " If this is the case, I suggest not installing it in /etc or as as conffile, but instead place it in /usr/share (and obviously patch the software as needed to read it from the new location).
