Package: googleearth-package
Version: 0.5.7
Severity: normal

I installed the current version 5.2.1.1329 using --force on AMD64.

Everything works fine (the GTK libs are installed), except some
graphics artifacts/render defects that appear when zooming. They
are a row of nine horizontal lines, in changing colors. Among
the lines the colors are related. The artifacts usually disappear
when zooming further in/out.

I have put an example at
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8207/streifenv.png

I have noticed this kind of artifacts only with Google Earth, but
I think it's well possible that this is a KMS/ATI driver problem,
feel free to move this report as appropriate...

In the google maps IRC I was pointed to this chat protocol
http://www.radeonhd.org/?page=archive_display&c=radeon&m=3&y=2010&d=2010-3-12
Somebody reports to Jester01 about googleearth render defects that
disappear when turning on KMS.
