Package: mysql-client-5.1 Version: 5.1.47-1~bpo50+1 Severity: wishlist
Hello Please move my_print_defaults from mysql-server-5.1 to mysql-client-5.1. Some people prefer to use the mysql.com binaries (due to the need to have a special version or just religious reasons :)). Administering such a system would be more comfortable if one could install the mysql-client-5.1 package and let the mysql.com init script use the Debian client binaries. Symlinking the mysql.com my_print_defaults to /usr/local/bin works as well but as it's use full for checking e.g. if the $HOME/.my.cnf is correctly parsed it does not hurt to declare it as a client binary. bye, -christian- -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-bpo.5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mysql-client-5.1 depends on: ii debianutils 2.30 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.7-18lenny4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbd-mysql-perl 4.007-1+lenny1 A Perl5 database interface to the ii libdbi-perl 1.605-1 Perl5 database interface by Tim Bu ii libgcc1 1:4.3.2-1.1 GCC support library ii libmysqlclient16 5.1.47-1~bpo50+1 MySQL database client library ii libncurses5 5.7+20081213-1 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-3.1 GNU readline and history libraries ii libstdc++6 4.3.2-1.1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libwrap0 7.6.q-16 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra ii mysql-common 5.1.47-1~bpo50+1 MySQL database common files, e.g. ii perl 5.10.0-19lenny2 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime mysql-client-5.1 recommends no packages.
