Hello, I also use kaffeine 0.6-1 and here it also crashes on exit. Sometimes it doesn't crash but consumes 100% CPU time in an endless loop. Both bug reports are reported upstream.
On http://kaffeine.sourceforge.net Juergen Kofler answered quite some bug reports like this with a hint to the readme about xfree86/xorg problems. But there isn't that much in the readme that would explain the thing. Actually I found only one x.org related note in the readme for Kaffeine 0.6 from upstream source archive: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- TROUBLESHOOTING: ---------------- *) If Kaffeine hangs on start run 'configure --with-xorg' and recompile/reinstall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the README for Kaffeine 0.7 this slightly differs as there are two contradicting instructions: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT CONFIGURE FLAGS: -------------------------- --with-xorg : use this ONLY(!) in the case Kaffeine hangs at startup [...] TROUBLESHOOTING: ---------------- [...] *) If Kaffeine hangs on start run 'configure --with-xinit-workaround' and recompile/reinstall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- If I manage to take the time I might trycompiling kaffeine 0.7 with that workaround configure option and see whether that helps. But before that I more likely will search a bit harder on the net for the actual cause of the problem as I would like to understand what's going on before trying around. Or I wait till 0.7 is packaged and try again.
