I'm acknowledging this bug and the patch. I'll try to get a new version
uploaded in the next 48 hours and will report the bug upstream as well.

I think the patch is not 100% correct though. The version I built on my
own system (in a clean chroot) does contain gif files, so I'll need to
reproduce the fact that no gifs are being generated anymore and figure
out what this means in terms of the documentation. I see a new version
of doxygen has appeared in unstable since I built the packages. Maybe
the new doxygen doesn't generate gifs anymore and all the references to
the gifs were in automatically generated files. In that case, I'll need
to add a versioned dependency on doxygen in addition to taking this
patch. Or maybe there's a bug now and the documentation refers to gifs
that are no longer there (unlikely). Anyway, I'll investigate a little
more deeply and will prepare a new upload. Worst case, I'll trade an RC
FTBFS for a more minor bug of some files being omitted from the docs.
