Ehm, one of my servers is running Etch and an older version of Courier
which has no Fam/Gamin installed and mutt can use imap_idle without any
problems...
I connected for some minutes to my newer server and it works too. I have
no Fam and no Gamin installed. AFAIK is courier useing an alternative
system, if Fam/Gamin is NOT installed.
