Couldn't boot neither x86 nor amd64 Debian 5.0.5 installer from USB pen drive on Lenovo Thinkpad X200s laptop. 256 Mb hd-media boot.img was written to a 4 Gb Transcend flash drive and a netinst CD image was copied there then. Boot was failing before the loader (syslinux) was able to print anything. This was resolved by updating syslinux version: syslinux 4.01 has been downloaded and the following command was executed in Windows: syslinux -ma d: After it the image was able to boot and successfully install the system (although syslinux couldn't find menu file so it had to be entered manually in the prompt). -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.5 APT prefers proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.34.1-hatta (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
