Hi, Three of the maintainers appear to be MIA, the fourth started some work on smarty3, yet there are bug reports without response from any of the maintainers. Given that multiple packages depend on it and its history of security issues, the package should be maintained better. There was even a regression in the last security update but nobody cared to either try to fix it or notify the security team. If any of the maintainers still wants to maintain it, please close this report by making an upload addressing the outstanding issues. Even then, please consider looking for co-maintainers.
