Package: mount Version: 2.17.2-3.1 Severity: important I run Debian on several old computers. Some of them still have floppy drives.
udisks, gnome-mount and other automount programs fail to detect the floppy and mount it. Even mount fails!: # mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /media/floppy0/ mount: block device /dev/fd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only # ls -a /media/floppy0/ .. .. I know the disk works and it has some data files, because it's correctly detected in winxp... This bug is quite depressing... -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mount depends on: ii libblkid1 2.17.2-3.1 block device id library ii libc6 2.11.2-2 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libselinux1 2.0.94-1 SELinux runtime shared libraries ii libsepol1 2.0.41-1 SELinux library for manipulating b ii libuuid1 2.17.2-3.1 Universally Unique ID library mount recommends no packages.
