I have not done anything with the bug because I am not sure the warnings are worth addressing. Upstream appears to have ceased all activities about three years ago, which means: 1. There is no one to apply the patch at upstream, and 2. There will probably never be any new error messages. I will, of course, reconsider my position if you can think of a good reason why I should apply the patch.
