Package: awesome
Version: 3.4.6-1
Severity: normal

It is quite a weird situation. Both me, and my colleague (3 meters away, so I
heard/saw him cursing) started to experience the same strange problem
today. We have been using awesome for quite a while without major glitches.
He is (still) running 3.4.5-1 (didn't upgrade any time recent I believe). I
was in the middle of upgrade to what we have in testing now, so 3.4.4-1 was
upgraded to 3.4.5-1 as well.

Later on, I've upgraded to 3.4.6-1 (some entries in upstream changelog online
were hinting on possible resolution) but problem managed to come back few
times already.

killall -HUP awesome
was of no help. We had to

killall awesome; wmaker

(or metacity) to get windows back (surprisingly they managed to stay in the
original workspaces/tags for me in wmaker), and then switching back to awesome
(windows got assigned to tag 1).

I am not sure how I could debug/troubleshoot awesome to provide adequate
information and I've not spotted reliable way to reproduce it. When I was in
3.4.5-1, killall -HUP awesome was leading to survival of windows only in the
current tag, the others were gone. Now I am not experiencing it that reliably
with 3.4.6-1.
