This was a deliberate change; aptitude was always outputting the same lines of text at the top and the bottom of the display, and it made it difficult to read the important messages. You can get the old behavior back by setting "Aptitude::Cmdline::Progress::Retain-Completed" to true, and you can get the old formatting back by setting "Aptitude::Cmdline::Progress::Percent-On-Right" to true. I also preserved the old output format when output is sent to a pipe, in case people were parsing the output from scripts. Does the new progress bar fail to work for you in some way? > This seems to be the improvement wished in #569516, which now is the default > state. Ah, I forgot there was a request for this filed. I'll go close it. Daniel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
