Jonas,
with my current level of testing the problem is gone...I've got the old init
script renamed by APT:
ser...@tyr:/etc/init.d$ ls -la cryptdisks.dpkg-old
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1030 Apr 7 21:41 cryptdisks.dpkg-old
ser...@tyr:/etc/init.d$
Now there's no sleep on the new script:
ser...@tyr:/etc/init.d$ grep sleep cryptdisks
ser...@tyr:/etc/init.d$
So I guess you guys did solve the issue even before this new version.

Hey Linas, Allen, Sergio and David,
Could you give the preliminary cryptsetup 2:1.1.3-1 packages a try and
report back whether they fix the bug for you? you can find the packages
at http://people.debian.org/~mejo/cryptsetup/
greetings,
jonas
