Yes. Get in touch with maintainers of those packages that may be affected and work out a fix or forward the problem upstream (looks like changes attributed to Ubuntu's Martin Pitt introduced the problem). My particular problems are with the scanning function, but I can imagine that faxes may be affected as well. Right now, scanning from multifunction devices breaks when upgrading from udev version 157-1 to 158-1. Up until 157-1, scanning has worked fine for such devices for years as long as you were a member of the scanner group. I should add that printing has also worked just fine throughout that period. - -- Olaf Meeuwissen, LPIC-2 FLOSS Engineer -- AVASYS CORPORATION FSF Associate Member #1962 Help support software freedom http://www.fsf.org/jf?referrer=1962 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkw6pJwACgkQt5qrxaZLMnJOmwCgiVyiGpM3+3YA3LI6udx0LL5D Y18AnAnD63gyylBcMyJJwDJFvbHty/sX =rTvY -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
