Now I've found what my problem was and it is not much related with
OpenShot itself so sorry for hi-jacking this bug #. Anyway, it is quite
difficult to disclose any problem as most of them are thrown away with
just the path error message mentioned in the previous report.
And to be clear on my issue: python-pygoocanvas library seems to be
compiled against python 2.5 but my Debian Testing installaton has
already set up version 2.6 as the main python interpreter. Rebuilding
python-pygoocanvas package against 2.6 did actually solved my problem.
