It is definitely problematic, but I believe it is solvable.

In such environments, the sysadmin can provide different dependency
information in /etc/insserv/overrides/nslcd, without the dependency on
$named, and make nslcd implement the virtual facility $named by adding
an entry in /etc/insserv.conf.d/.
