Found out the problem:    (see

/etc/logrotate.d/lighttpd

lighttpd is reloaded in there

I think new lighttpd process are created while the old are still running,
as soon as the old process get be killed, the fast-cgi socket will be
deleted too.

Workaround:  replaced reload with restart in the logrotate script  works fine
