I have replaced the AVM card with a Dialogic (Eicon) Diva Server card. This card does not need c4h and integrates much better with HylaFAX. All problems are gone since then. I just checked that with this setup I can successfully send a multipage document to myself on the same physical ISDN line. The problem must be related to capi4hylafax, the AVM card or its CAPI driver. BTW: At the time of the bug report I used an active AVM B1 card, not a cheap Fritz card.
