That someone would be me I guess (#585799). I didn't understand the bug properly, because when I added 'send host-name "<hostname>";' to my config it appeared to fix a problem I was having with my router, but from reading this report it appears that the Debian version doesn't support "<hostname>" (but it does support send host-name as long as it's given a literal hostname?), so I suppose I just had a lucky case of two wrongs making a right :).
Does anyone know how soon 4.2.0 is expected? If it's a long time, perhaps now that the way upstream is going to implement this thanks to the beta, could it be backported to the unstable package, or could the beta go into experimental? Otherwise, perhaps the developers/maintainers of network-manager would be prepared to get it to add a send host-name directive when it creates its dynamic dhclient config file if there isn't already one in the template. -- TH * http://www.realh.co.uk -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
