Package: lvm2 Version: 2.02.62-1 Severity: normal I've updated by accident (lack of better knowledge...) only libdevmapper, but not dmsetup. Afterwards my system didn't boot anymore:
http://www.koch.ro/blog/index.php?/archives/140-udev-ate-my-laptop-today.html Fortunatly I could still boot into a 2.6.30 (but not in a 2.6.31-32) kernel and update also dmsetup, which solved the issue. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers stable APT policy: (1000, 'stable'), (990, 'unstable'), (700, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages lvm2 depends on: ii dmsetup 2:1.02.48-1 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii libc6 2.11.1-3 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdevmapper1.02.1 2:1.02.48-1 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii lsb-base 3.2-23.1 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip lvm2 recommends no packages. lvm2 suggests no packages. -- debconf information: lvm2/snapshots: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
