I still have a question: Is there ANY way to fix this bug in lenny? Because any direct interference to MIME types would be discarded next time I install or update any package and shared-mime-info in unstable (or testing) needs libc6 --> in short, it can't be installed without screwing up the whole system. Is there ANY backport or fix?
