Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.5+6 Severity: normal
Hello, I tried this on a live CD but I would expect this has implications for normal systems as well. The issue is: I have /etc/default/keyboard set up with my preferred keymap which I heard is the way to set up system-wide keyboard layout in X. I have a live-CD with X preinstalled and on that CD the keyboard works fine. On another CD the X server is not installed so I install it with aptitude install xserver-xorg icewm nodm Running nodm as root then gives me a X session where the keyboard is *not* set up. Looking through X logs I see that on the system with preinstalled X the layout is logged Xorg.log as the one in /etc/default/keyboard, on the CD where I install the X server after boot the layout is logged and works as just "us". keyboard-configuration is installed in either case. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
