tag 578407 moreinfo tag 578407 help thanks grepping through /usr/share/initramfs-tools, i cannot find any reference to firmware.agent at all, my guess is that in squeeze/sid, this probably happens automatically now. lacking the necessary hardware i'm afraid i can't do much about this.
however, i've uploaded the following image to test for you: http://live.debian.net/other/firmware-b2nx/ please confirm that it's working or that it's not working, so we at least can prove or disprove my above guess.
