Package: notification-daemon Version: 0.4.0-2 Severity: normal On my KDE box, with notification-daemon installed, I noticed that all KDE notifications were being displayed through notification-daemon.
Ideally, in a KDE DE, any of the GNOME apps should be using the KDE notification system. Please see following thread for more details: http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2010/06/msg00029.html notification-daemon seems to be auto-registering itself to dbus. > I guess this might be the cause. > > 12:17:14 r...@champaran:/tmp/kde-rrs/notification-daemon/usr/share $ > cat > dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.Notifications.service > [D-BUS Service] > Name=org.freedesktop.Notifications > Exec=/usr/lib/notification-daemon/notification-daemon Removing the notification-daemon package resolved the problem.
