Please retry it, on a different buildd if possible. It seems very unlikely to me that the hang is related to the change in -5+lenny2. Maybe it's a bug in the testsuite (before 1.3, the testsuite had some problems and the package does not treat test failures as build failures anyway). Or it's an alpha kernel/libc problem.
