Your report is a bit short on your expectations. Why do you report a
bug against insserv? What do you expect insserv to do differently?

The install log in your report show that you have several init.d
scripts with buggy init.d scripts, all of which should be fixed before
continuing. I suggest you get these fixed first:

> insserv: warning: script 'gcstartup' missing LSB tags and overrides
> insserv: warning: script 'oracle-xe' missing LSB tags and overrides
> insserv: warning: script 'nagios' missing LSB tags and overrides
> insserv: script vmware-autostart: service VMware already provided!
> insserv: script vmware-mgmt: service VMware already provided!
> insserv: script vmware-core: service VMware already provided!
> insserv: There is a loop at service munin-node if started
> insserv: Starting gcstartup depends on munin-node and therefore on system
> facility `$all' which can not be true!

some clues on how to fix it. Which Debian packages provide these
scripts?

I wonder how you managed to get dependency based boot sequencing
enabled on your computer, as it is supposed to ensure the dependencies
are consistent, and loop free before it is enabled. Do you know how
this happened?

Happy hacking,
