Package: plymouth Version: 0.8.3-2 Severity: normal The problem still exists for me with version 0.8.3-2. I did some research and it seems that initramfs-tools >= 0.95 doesn't add the needed binaries to the initrd. Probably this is due to changes to the copy_exec hook-function as it seems that the plymouth hook script is aborted after the first call of this function.
Strangely this doesn't happen when running update-initramfs in verbose mode. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.34 (PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages plymouth depends on: ii initramfs-tools 0.95.1 tools for generating an initramfs ii libc6 2.11.1-2 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-4 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdrm-intel1 2.4.20-3 Userspace interface to intel-speci ii libdrm-nouveau1 2.4.20-3 Userspace interface to nouveau-spe ii libdrm-radeon1 2.4.20-3 Userspace interface to radeon-spec ii libdrm2 2.4.20-3 Userspace interface to kernel DRM ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.1-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.0-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.43-1 PNG library - runtime Versions of packages plymouth recommends: ii plymouth-themes-all 0.8.3-2 Graphical Boot Animation and Logge Versions of packages plymouth suggests: pn gdm <none> (no description available) -- Configuration Files: /etc/plymouth/plymouthd.conf changed [not included] -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
