Ahh, I can't currently recreate this problem, but it might not be libmusicbrainz4c2 at fault, as such... There's a potential race condition in xmms-scrobbler when used with a 2.6.x kernel which I'm currently working on, there have been other reports of this to the upstream maintainer, and there is a patch that I'll apply ready for the next release. I'll try to dig it out this evening for you, and build a test package.
