Package: virtualbox-ose-qt Version: 3.2.0-dfsg-1 Severity: normal Attempting to edit a shared folder's properties when that folder is being used by the guest results in the following error message:
Failed to create the shared folder $FOLDER (pointing to $DIR) for the virtual machine $VM. Could not remove the shared folder '$FOLDER' (VERR_PERMISSION_DENIED) Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: Console Interface: IConsole {6375231a-c17c-464b-92cb-ae9e128d71c3} At that point, the folder is still active, but VirtualBox has lost any trace of it in the Shared Folders menu. (It will come back the next time the machine is reopened, though.) Apparently, VBox handles a shared folders edit by deleting and re-creating it, which obviously won't work if it's currently in use. I guess the easiest fix would be to disable editing until the folder is released. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.33 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages virtualbox-ose-qt depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-9 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-2 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 7.4-2 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libqt4-network 4:4.6.2-5 Qt 4 network module ii libqt4-opengl 4:4.6.2-5 Qt 4 OpenGL module ii libqtcore4 4:4.6.2-5 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.6.2-5 Qt 4 GUI module ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.14-6 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libstdc++6 4.4.4-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-3 X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.10-2 X cursor management library ii libxext6 2:1.1.1-3 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxinerama1 2:1.1-3 X11 Xinerama extension library ii virtualbox-ose 3.2.0-dfsg-1 x86 virtualization solution - base virtualbox-ose-qt recommends no packages. virtualbox-ose-qt suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
