Hi, kadmin is not running after boot if the LDAP server is not available. From /var/log/krb5.log: kadmind[1604](Error): Can't contact LDAP server while initializing, aborting I think this closely related to http://bugs.debian.org/582122 and can hopefully be fixed as easily by adding Should-Start/Stop (Petter, please jump in if I am wrong): ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: krb5-admin-server # Required-Start: $local_fs $remote_fs $network $syslog # Required-Stop: $local_fs $remote_fs $network $syslog # Should-Start: krb5-kdc # Should-Stop: krb5-kdc # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 ... I guess by using krb5-kdc instead of a solution with /etc/insserv/overrides/krb5-admin-server (as used in #582122) and corresponding: "Should-Start/Stop: slapd" the above should work (and make sense) in any case(?). (KDC database in ldap or not).
