Package: alpine Version: 2.00+dfsg-6 Severity: normal
If all URL-Viewers fail, probably should use /etc/alternatives/www-browser which is w3m in default gnome-desktop in squeeze. Lynx is not installed on this system, so the default viewer command does not launch. Instead, I guess gnome-terminal picks it up? Epiphany launches. Epiphany is /etc/alternatives/x-www-browser. (gnome-control-center pref'd apps does not seem to change which browser is selected.) The screen is sometimes blank and needs ^L after exiting epiphany, then I'm able to operate alpine again. If I set URL-Viewers to /usr/bin/iceweasel, it launches fine in a new tab in a running browser, returning control to the terminal in alpine. However, if iceweasel is not running, it launches but not in the background, and I can no longer use alpine: (epiphany:1129): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_remove: assertion `GTK_IS_TOOLBAR (container) || widget->parent == GTK_WIDGET (container)' failed (epiphany:1129): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_box_pack: assertion `child->parent == NULL' failed (epiphany:1129): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to add a widget with type GtkHBox to a GtkFrame, but as a GtkBin subclass a GtkFrame can only contain one widget at a time; it already contains a widget of type GtkHBox [ repeated ] Mark -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages alpine depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-9 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.8.1+dfsg-3 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - k ii libkrb5-3 1.8.1+dfsg-3 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.17-2.1 OpenLDAP libraries ii libncurses5 5.7+20100313-2 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libpam0g 1.1.1-3 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8n-1 SSL shared libraries alpine recommends no packages.
